One of my neighbors has a bugeye WRX with some kind of exhaust on it that makes the usual turbo Subaru with an exhaust thrum. It has assorted other touches like black (plastidipped?) wheels and smoked taillights. I hear it all the time but usually when I’m in my house and not when I’m outside. The other day I was out in my driveway and saw him pull into his and he’s not a flat brim hat Subaru bro, but rather a shaggy beard fat nerd Subaru bro. I’m not sure whether this makes me more or less likely to talk with him, being as I’m a shaved head, goatee and glasses, fashionable sneakerhead muscle nerd BMW bro. These brotegories may or may not be compatible.

Eh... probably the most helpful enthusiast community you’ll ever stumble upon. WRX bros cracked Subaru’s programming over a decade ago created a whole open source program for tuning your car on the cheap if you know what you’re doing. I turbo swapped and tuned my old WRX to a hair over 300 hp for like $500.
Those Merrells lasted longer than the Subie.
