See, Car and Driver is proposing this kind of manualized automatic . I think it’s gonna work, but really it needs with tower shifters like on rally cars, as well as its column-mounted brother.

Or people could, you know, acknowledge that a well-sorted automatic is better in every way than a manually shifted one, including fuel economy, power delivery, speed of shits, shift points, etc.
