Cleaned the interior to a much higher standard than the dealership did when I bought it. Which I’m pretty sure they did with a wet rag and nothing else.

It cleans up very nicely imo. Yes all of the dash is hard plastic (and most of the doors except the upper part of it where you’d set your arm were the window down) but it at least looks nice and isn’t the gross shiny stuff older GMs use. Plus it’s a truck, it should be easy to clean.

I managed to take a good amount of greasy, glossy shine out if the steering wheel with some cleaner and conditioner. It’s much better than it was before.

Some Tuff Stuff on the headliner got some water stains out of it by the rear doors. No idea why it was water stained as it rained multiple days this past week and the headliner was dry as a bone. My only guess is windows got left down.

Otherwise just a normal wipe down with interior multi purpose cleaner and Windex on the gauge/radio faces, mirror, and windows.

Also, can we talk about how great these rear door mechanisms are? Why did it take so long to develop a mechanism that allowed them to open almost 180 degrees?

I’m always struck by how much of an effect a little effort on the interior has. I have my convertible top open most of the time, so it gets dusty fast, especially with the pollen coming out now.

I always have my windows down this time of year, so mine usually ends up the same way with a fine layer of dust and pollen over everything.

How strong is the door mechanism? Would it slam the door into the body on a windy day?

As long as the center folds down into an arm rest. The solid bench in my S10 kinda sucked in that regard.

There’s a good bit of gap between the door and bed side (3-4 inches) so I imagine you’d have to damage the mechanism for it to hit the bed.

I don’t understand how places don’t detail their cars. One place I went didn’t even pick the garbage out of them.

I had a 2011 that looked just like that on the inside, loved that truck. That was my one hard requirement when I was looking, needed to have the bench option.

Look at that. Three useable cupholders just in the front.

Take note, other countries.

Three up front, two bottle holders on each of the front doors, and two for the back.

I have the same truck and this makes me cry. It’s so beautiful. Except for the seat being off from the wheel.

I swear I never notice that the wheel is off. I drive GMT900s and K2s at work all the time and just never really noticed.

I can’t get into the GMT900 dash. I like my 800's so much better. I feel like they cheaped out on the 900.

Those rear doors tho... I’m jealous.

Gorgeous. When I was truck shopping a couple weeks ago, I really wanted to get something in this gen of truck. My cousin has a 2012 crew, and the interior is so utilitarian and perfect. I wanted a truck in my life again as soon as I drove it. Big easy to see gauges, simple lines of text on the radio, physical buttons everywhere, relaxing seating position, and so comfortable and smooth. Good buy.

Side note: he has the 4.8 and one day we decided to cut off the stock muffler and replace it with a Thrush glasspack. May not be your style, but it’s perfect. Low rumble on startup and idle, loud when you want it to be, and quiet when you don’t. All around this is a great generation of trucks. My dad had a 2010 with the same 180 degree doors, and I’m kind of sad they got rid of that for this gen and didn’t have suicide double cab doors. I wish mine had those.
