Kinja'd!!!

In South Africa, the VW Vanagon (Or Kombi, as the South Africans call it, and every other van like it) was sold until 2002. Why? Because fuck you, that’s why. Also, I’m pretty sure South African safety standards are a lot more lax than the rest of the world.

Of course, that pales in comparison to Brazil, where the T2 (!) was sold until late 2013, with the only real change being a new front grille (and watercooling).

And that front grille is changed because it’s water cooled.

Of 99 of the U.K.s final delivery of T2s from Brazil. 79 went to Danbury Motorcaravans.

They still have some in stock to buy new.

Unfortunately the wheel carrier on the front is a faux wheel carrier and not to be used to carry a wheel.

Isn’t SA like forty years behind the rest of the world? They’re the Florida of the world.

They changed the engine in the Vanagon, too. It’s remaining years were powered by Audi inline 5.
