Kinja'd!!!

This guy lives around the corner from me. It’s awesome. Shame about the grille, though. It’s also filled with garbage which is unfortunate. I had a B210 that I bought for $300 back in the early aughts. I loved that car. Slow as molasses and the guy I got it from weighed like 500 pounds, so the car leaned to the left all the time. But, it was cool.

At least it appears to get some attention now and again.

I think the last time I saw one “in the wild” was about seven years ago.

I had a 75 B210 4 dr, mediteranian blue. Got hit, insurance paid out $550 for it, I paid $575 when I bought it. Drove it another year, dropped a valve seat and ruined the engine. Abandoned it in Idaho.

That sounds like a typical B210 story.

Once the throttle stuck to the floor, so it was WOT. No problem just went like that for 10 miles maybe hit 67 mph before I had to turn off the engine to fix the jam in the linkage. -I could write stories of Highlander driving shitty datusns.

Yeah, and I just saw it driving down the street. I think it looks good in that color. It’s a shame he didn’t mask the darn bumpers. You actually see them now and again out here in L.A. Datsuns are really popular in the Mexican community.

Haha. I think I had the same problem once. That one I had had been so abused, but wouldn’t stop running. It really was unkillable. By the time I was done with it it had a leaky carb, leaky exhaust, the suspension was totally shot, but it just kept plugging along. I ended up selling it for 50 dollars more than I paid which, as thrifty as it was, probably covered all the gas I ever put in it.

My Mom’s first car was a Datsun B210 sedan. Which in her words “was the ugliest thing ever”. Actual car not pictured but it was this color.

Kinja'd!!!

I’d love to have one.

Oh, yeah. That’s that baby shit color they used to have. I love it. The sedan is a bit less ungainly than the hatch, but I adore them both.

Shame about the grille. Shame about the bumper. Shame about the missing blinker. Shame about the missing antenna. And shame about those Wolfrace wheels!

What a gorgeous car. Love it.

Haha. Don’t forget the missing wipers. It really is a thing of beauty. I think those wheels work nicely. I guess it’s a rolling restoration. Based on that overspray, it may have been rolling while they painted it.

Hahaha, totally missed those. Your weather must be great there!

The Wolfrace wheels actually do work, period correct at the least. Next time try some rolling footage. I want to hear this beast!

We actually had a very rainy winter this year. Which means it rained like 10 times. I wonder what he did.

I’ll try and catch it next time I see it puttering around. I think it has the original motor, so don’t expect any fireworks.

Probably somewhat like this.

Without the sunglasses. I once drove a car in the rain with failing wipers. Guess where that car was built.

France.

I’ve done it, too. The 360's wipers wouldn’t go fast enough for a really hard rain, so sometimes I’d have to wait those out under a bridge.

Nope. Italy. Dad’s Fiat Croma.

That car learned me just to have the rain fall and then start driving. After a while it doesn’t matter/bother. Really. Deal with it!

Kinja'd!!! "Jonee" (Jonee)
04/28/2017 at 02:54, STARS: 1

Ah, that would be my second choice. If you can go fast enough, the rain stops mattering, but a Subaru 360 couldn’t go fast enough. I’m talking like a downpour. Boston got some heavy rains.

Yeah, I really have no clue why Italians and electronics have such a bad reputation. Once it started it’s horn all the time. Even when shut off. So my dad’s secretary ran into his office that someone was trying to break in his car as the alarm went of. “What alarm?” Awkward car. Handled great actually.

04/29/2017 at 01:47, STARS: 1

Haha. Anyone can screw up electronics. A friend of my father’s used to have an old Lincoln Continental convertible that was all crazy. The horn would sound if you tapped the rear view mirror! And the wipers somehow got wired to the horn. And I forget what would happen if you tried the radio. He kept it for years just because it was hilarious. And that’s American. The Croma was always so bland. That’s interesting it had good handling.

Haha, sounds amazing as well! The first day I had my driver’s license I had to drive my dad to Zoetermeer, all the way from Twente. A 2 hours drive. First time I got over 200km/h. Good memories. Check it out against some German and a French contender:

Wow, that is impressive for that day and age. I think the first time I went over a hundred was in my mom’s Nissan Maxima. The old school square one. That was a really nice car. My Wagoneer could have hit 100, too, probably, but it would have taken a full tank of gas to get there.

That Audi looks like fun. Those cars were hilarious in general.

It really was a great car. Pretty zippy and lasted forever. My sister took it after my mother was done with it and it kept going. People would make her offers all the time, too. They’re pretty popular and hard to find in good shape.

Not surprised. My other middle name is also Danger.

Plus “Alto Voltaje.” Had to add that part when I moved out here.

Not that kind of stylus. You can see it better here. I can’t quite tell what the needle is made with. The record looks like any other record, though. But, I think it may have been silicon and not vinyl.
