33k miles and the factory Yokos are at 5/32 in the rear and nearly 4/32 on the fronts, with regular rotations. :/

That’s pretty much at the wear bars on the fronts, plus between the treads on all four there’s some significant cracking going on.

Since its my wife’s DD, and she has a long drive next week for job training, I want her to be safe....

SO I ORDERED THE CHEAPEST NEW TIRES I COULD FIND... $261 for the set.

In 225/65R17 102H - The stock size & speed rating, and close to stock load range.

Now the CX-5 is a lease, and we’re looking to get out of it soon, so it was going to need tires either way. I just don’t want to spend a lot since it’ll be gone sometime this summer, to be replaced by a 3-row’er. We’re looking at either a Durango or a Pacifica, since I work at a FCA dealer and will get a good deal. I hope.

I seem to recall that the CX-5 has some awful OE tires. Were the ones you just replaced the Yokohama S34D? My wife’s Impreza came with them and they’re garbage. I also had a coworker with a CX-5 with the factory 19” wheels and her OE tire was some crappy Toyo and there were hardly any other options available in that size.

When we bought ours one of the first thing the salesman said was that they eat tires.

Geolander G91 I think.

The G55's are actually pretty good. I would have went with those if I still worked for Mazda.

The 19" are Toyo A23, to be precise, at least on 2016+. About $300/tire, which is BS. Had to replace one on my wife’s 2016 Grand Touring at 10k miles due to unrepairable nail damage. Not a bad tire, but I can get two Pirelli Scorpion Verde Plus for as much as the damn Toyo cost. It’s not a bad tire as OEMs go, but wow is it overpriced!

If you were keeping the car, I could understand replacing the car, but you could get another 3K miles from 4/32" of tread and be above the wear bars at 2/32". I agree with replacing them at 4/32", mind you, but it’s a lease, so why bother?

Just got them on mine, hell of a lot quieter than the winters.

I wouldn’t get those tires on something I was going to keep, but since you’re not that makes sense.

I’ve actually sold a LOT of Multi Miles in my day, and had a set of their Grand Am GT tires on my truck.

Kinja'd!!!

They’re not bad, and the company is at least an American company and they stand behind thier products. Come to think of it I’ve never even had a warranty issue, outside of road hazard on them.

Because at lease turn in if they’re at 4/32 or below we get charged for replacing them.

And with her driving across the state several times before August, I want better tires on it.

2nd “car” should be “tires”.
