Early Fiestas do something to me that I can’t quite put into words.

I’d probably hang the license plate straight, though. Crooked license plates are so early-1990s minitrucking.

My cousin had one of those (in beige) she bought from a local scrapyard after her car packed in. It was to get her to work while she found something else, but she fell for that car and it went happily for many years after that.

I like early Fiestas too. But the ones that were sold here have non-round headlights.

That would be because the Americans had to have sealed beams at the time.

The car in the first picture is an American one with side marker lights and sealed beams.

I owned a 1979 Mk1 from new and put 120k miles on it. I should post a picture of it later. I have a few shots but they aren’t great quality shots. It was an S model and far from stock by the time it was traded on a 1983 Prelude.

The square sealed beam might have retained the original look “better”. But there was the European XR2 with round headlights too. I’m pretty sure that I have never seen one.
