I caught a dumbass on the commute this morning trying to lane split with an F-150, and I told the police I had the video. I’d like to see edit it down, so any advice would be much appreciated!

I use movie maker. It’s not the greatest, but it came with my laptop & it works.

Got access to a Mac? Apple just made iMovie a free download for all users this week. Personally I use ffmpeg and think it is the best free video editing tool but you can’t be afraid of the command line - it’s all text driven. To clip out part of a video you do something like this: ffmpeg -ss 00:30:25 -t 00:00:31 -i dashcam.avi -vcodec copy dashcamtrimmed.avi

Not free but I bought adobe elements for like $50.00 bucks and it’s worth every penny. You get the photo editing and video editing software. I use it for drone video, dash cam and have begun an epic project to stich together the hundreds of 10 second clips recorded from cell phones over the years of our kids.

Look for a program called Shotcut. It uses timeline based editing like WMM but it’s less lame and has built in encoding.
