Weird. Checking her page reveals that it’s not even an especially rich place for hot takes. Then again, Barry Petchesky found the source of all takes at the peak of Mount Take, so it’s not like I’m any good at prospecting prodigious springs of hot takes.

I was commenting on the fact that the author chose to say “has not scored a point (in 2017)” instead of “has not yet finished a race.”
While the points are the same, McLaren Honda only having one car finish one race this season says so much more about the current state of Alonso.

Actually that’s the worst part. The author is Jenna Fryer, one of the most accomplished, respected, and knowledgeable motorsports writers in the U.S. Which makes this take even worse.

Jeff Gordon was their teammate for the Rolex 24 this year, would make sense that a normally NASCAR beat writer would know about the Taylors.
(She does cover more than NASCAR now but I think that was her first assignment for the AP)
