This pickup is nearly identical to my late father’s pickup, which he stopped driving in 1978 due to macular degeneration just before I was born. The real truck was then owned by two of my uncles before passing to my cousin who sold it for parts in the late ‘90s. This one is the same year range (I think dad’s was a 72 but they are visually identical), same bed length/type, same drivetrain, same trim level, and same color. Slap a set of white wagon wheels on this, brush-paint it the same blue and I’d be hard pressed to tell the difference.
I have an email out to the guy, but I genuinely don’t know if I want to own it or not. Part of me wants to buy it and do enough repair to bring it up to the same beater state my dad’s was the whole time I knew it. But part of me fears I’d get locked into it just being a rolling memorial to my dad I could never then upgrade, modify, or get rid of.
