Very cool, thank you for sharing. I belong to a car group here in metro Detroit area that works with donated cars to repair them to give away to primarily single mothers to help with their transportation needs. It’s amazing how much difference a set of wheels can make to a person. Similar to this project, it’s probably one of the next most important things to get people back on their feet. It’s very easy to take what we consider as basics for granted. These kinds of places are awesome. Some of these women are coming from real crap situations.

What group are you a part of? That sounds like something I’d like to support!

Our group is called Full Throttle, we are a part of Kensington community church in Troy MI. All volunteers from all walks, all car guys. It’s a real good group. Due to our volunteer makeup, we don’t get the throughput that some other similar groups get, but we try to turn around at least 6 cars a year, but last few years we’ve done better than that. We also do work on cars that women are driving now and need repairs. It’s an awesome opportunity and I’m glad to be part of it. It amazes me some of the vehicles we see. It really makes you appreciate having a reliable set of wheels. Thank you for your interest.
