Kinja'd!!!

Why buy a G6 when you could buy this instead? It also came as a hybrid. And with the coolest sunroof around.

Kinja'd!!!

Awww yeah.

I saw one of these the other day, and was really confused until I remembered that they were a thing.

I’m pretty sure everyone has forgotten about them by this point.

It has an Aura of mediocrity, but it’s still better than a G6.

Lots of things are better than the G6.

the G6 came with the same sunroof. The Saturn does look less buy-here-pay-here than the G6.

Oh, I know. But it’s also a G6, and therefore kind of not great.

Granted, my friend had one, and it was adequate.

I mean, if we’re saying hardtops make cars better.

Why buy a G6 when you could have had a Grand Prix with a super wacky FWD V8?

http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/pontiac-grand-prix-gxp-road-test

I owned a Grand Prix 3800 at one time. Probably the comfortable cruiser I’ve ever had. Couldn’t turn or stop (the brake lines exploded when ABS kicked on one time - which is, uh, dangerous), but otherwise, great machine. Well except for the wipers that had a habit of detaching themselves.... and the dash that kind of never fit together right.

Cool looking sunroof, but I see mechanical nightmares in the future. More parts equals more points for failure. Considering how much trouble it was to find parts for and repair the sunroofs on the E21 and E34 I’d just prefer to stay away from those infernal things altogether.

likening regular brand reliability to BMW reliability isnt fair

Every car gets old, and every seal wears out, and that’s a lot of seals (amongst other things). When it comes to engineering of mechanical systems I’d probably trust BMW more than GM, but sunroof by their very nature are fiddly things. Regardless of manufacturer, more parts means more things to break, which is why you’re safer on a two-engined airliner than on a four-engineed one.

GM even in their darkest times would never cheap out on something as essential as a cooling system

And I thought it was really an emergency egress system, not part of the cooling system.
