And I’ve already concluded my new to me Silverado is my favorite car I’ve owned so far, bar none.
It’s comfortable and so roomy inside, rides like a Cadillac compared to the S10, has the perfect amount of horsepower on tap, gets pretty damn good gas mileage for a V8, looks great especially thanks to the dark metallic blue paint, drives better, and I actually do the “look back as you walk away” thing which I basically never did with the S10.
I need to do my regular regemine of detailing on it and there’s some spots on the roof I need the body shop to fix the paint on, but otherwise you’d never know it had the mileage it does. Which is the total opposite of the S10 which had low miles but felt old and wore out.
Speaking of the S10, a Porter at work bought it, which means I get to see it still.

Glad you’re enjoying it. How useful are the back seats? Would it be more useful to put a storage shelf in there?

I love that gen Silverado! My neighbors bout their 2008 new, and put a cap on it. I never get tired of seeing it or hearing it.

They’re actually pretty useful. Most of my friends are short so they fit back there just fine. There’s more room back there than in my dads 04 Silverado too.

I used to actually not be a huge fan of this generation. I was much more a fan of the 2003-2006, but that changed a couple years ago. This is probably my favorite generation appearance wise both inside and out now.

I love trucks. That’s a nice Silverado you’ve got there. I’ve always been a fan of GMs truck styling.

I’m still getting used to mine and it’s been a little over a week. It’s my first pickup, same ECSB as yours but an 05 Z71. I agree with everything you said, but man everything on the body rattles compared to my Discovery which was ten years older but solid as hell.
