I thought it was Subaru that was calling them Dynamic.

That is super cool - like them even better than the Audi since they are orange and kind of wrap around to the side. Unless they cost a billion dollars - then give me a nice, normal, cheap LED blinky.

This gimmick is why we have $1k tail lamps and $2k headlamps.

Audi’s are orange... not in the US though

interesting - I could never figure out why car manufacturers spec’d red turn signals - the orange ones stand out so much better. So it’s a US thing...

yup. Only in the US are rear turn signals not mandated to be amber/orange. On the flipside however, only the US requires amber reflectors and marker lights on the headlights

There’s a complicated reason why sequential rear indicators on North American Audis (and only them) are red. It’s because the individual elements of the LED sequence are too small to be legal and so Audi have to illuminate what in the rest of the world would be a brake light as well. Because they’re using a brake light if follows that they use red indicators (which are illegal elsewhere) as well.

Lexus use sequential indicators as well but I think they just omit them from North American models.
