“You’re applying a screen protector on me? Don’t worry, there’s absolutely no debris on my screen.”

SYKE!

Screen protectors can fuck off.

I NEED A CLEAN ROOM TO APPLY A SCREEN PROTECTOR.

I’m certainly damning myself to scratch my screen in the near future by saying this...However, I haven’t scratched a screen since my last blackberry.

I use a slim Belkin case and no screen protector. I will throw my keys right on the screen. I leave my phone out and use it while there are things like grease/sand/sawdust/adhesive on my fingers. Then to clean it up I spray it with electronics cleaner and rub it really hard with a shop towel...

People at work ask me to put them on for them all the time. I used compressed air while I’m lowering it on to the screen.

Bathroom right after you take a shower. The humidity will trap dust in the air and keep it from falling on the screen while you apply the cover

Not really much need for them anymore. The best screen protectors you can get are only as scratch resistant as the screen you are putting them on.

A guy at work had me install one of the glass ones. He dropped it, the screen didn’t break but the protector did. Since it was raised off the glass he sliced his thumb all the way open and had to go to the ER!

Then I broke the actual screen taking the rest of the protector off...

I gave up on screen protectors years ago. They suck.

I have a tempered protector still on my phone, at least when I drop it, it shatters the protector first not the screen. I went through 3 already.

I paid too much for this phone so it’d better last me a few years.

The ideal situation would be protectors applied at the factory, maybe even with “layers” that can be removed like racing visor tear-offs.

The most expensive phone I’ve ever purchased is the only one I haven’t bought a protector for - the S7 Edge, but I think that was originally because of the weird curved screen and some cases not fitting properly with a protector on.
