Kinja'd!!!

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

this past weekend I ended up pulling the carpet and seats to try and get rid of all the mold. when Forgecrownvictor delivered the car there was a puddle inside and that resulted with mildew and mold everywhere. so I rented a Rug doctor and went to town

So the Carpets back in, the seats need more scrubbing and the car still smells like mildew.

What is the cost for new padding and carpets? Mildew smell is pretty tough to get rid of. Or maybe you can pull a set from a junkyard?

The Carpet I did a really good job getting the smell out using Borax mixed with the strongest carpet cleaner I could find. The smell is coming from all the panels. My jeep last year had the same problem A really hot day came by and killed everything including the smell so that might be my only way out.

I’m trying not to spend as much money on the interior because that’s not my main priority at the moment. The Pi heads still need to be ported and milled and I need new plugs wires and injectors.

I am pulling a new back set.. that’s just beyond saving.

Put the seat covers in the washing machine. They clean up real nice.

The carpet probably would have fit in the trunk/back seat if you rolled it up.

I can’t believe you used a trailer to pick up new carpet.

I had it there to sun dry, that’s the old carpet after I cleaned it.

Sure! It’s easy once the seats are out of the car. You’ll need to pull the two pieces of the seat apart (unbolts) and I wouldn’t recommend doing the head rest, but I used to wash mine every few months. The rear is held on with hog rings, though, so there’s no getting that apart.
