Kinja'd!!!

I am actually surprised when the update listing came up on the App Store. Some expansion this is.

Kinja'd!!!

First off, they’ve finally rolled out the much-awaited One:1, completing the trifecta of Agera-bloodline Koenigseggs. The review comes out tomorrow, but I can say this much: it’s a hoot.

Kinja'd!!!

They’re also introducing #JDM to the game, with a racing variant of what used to be Doug’s R32 and the Hakosuka, which will be popular with scalpers all over the world. But nah, these are oldies, and will be considerably easier to win, run and maintain than the Koenigsegg.

Kinja'd!!!

They’re also introducing Flashback, a new money-sink EA is wanting me to play.

Kinja'd!!!

I am currently mulling over starting at least one, but I’m still holding out for the Viper ACR, BAC Mono, and/or Super GT on the June expansion. Actually no, I want EA to put the E46 M3 GTR in the game. Why haven’t they? Weird. They can bundle in the M6 GTLM and Z4 GTLM there, too.

So there you go. I’ll do my best to report back about my experience playing through the two new events, and if I end up playing one from Flashback, I’ll post, too.

(UPDATE ON THE MP4-X PURCHASING PROBLEM: I’m not buying it. I might at some point, if a holiday sale comes up, but I’ve resisted temptation.)

The One:1 was incredible, the car is so capable I was able to complete over 75% of the goals below the PR requirement. I didn’t expect such a long car can turn so urgently. My only complaint for the car is that the upgrades become ridiculously expensive after the first or second upgrade which I refused. The flashback events varies depending on player, if you don’t own the cars for those events it’ll be a money pit no doubt. But if you already acquired them from back when those events were released then I considered it as quick gold earning opportunities since it doesn’t matter whether you complete the event or not. I wasn’t able to complete “The 500" since life happened but since I already owned the car I wasn’t too bummed out. I’m playing “Ride the Storm” now and expect to finish the day after tomorrow and leave “Lion of Leipzig” for last since out of the 3 events the 918 is the one I enjoy driving the most.

I mulled over completing the One:1 event a little too long which meant the upgrades were too late, so I wasn’t able to get it, but I agree. That car is unlike anything else I’ve driven in-game. Just needs more foresight under braking, not like the FXX K when you just slam the brakes willy-nilly. I’ll come back it once it gets on the Flashback lineup.

What I reckon I can win are the GT-Rs. The next event is for both of them and starts 4 days from now, which makes my jimmies rustle.

Leaving out the Huracan (never took a liking to it), am I better off with the Aston GTE event or the 918? Latter is cheaper to run, but the Aston has a career unlock and can probably pay me more dividends later.

For long upgrades, I just watch the ads in the game to reduce wait time by 30% per ad. I just let the 15 seconds ads play until the upgrade or service is complete, it transforms an upgrade that takes a day to complete into just a 5 minute ordeal.

I think the One:1 is more laid back where you just point and shoot and you can guarantee it’ll stick. Even drifting (one of the earlier goals) was super easy with the rear end comes back to you on demand. The FXX K snaps a bit more violently if you push it too far.

The GTR should be relatively easy especially the Hakosuka which I believe to have the lowest starting PR of any car in the game.

For the flashback I think the 918 is better since it’s less tedious and more exciting to drive. For the GTE most goals take 9 laps!!! I ain’t got no time for that!!!
