I guess that’s all because of the lack of bacon.

I mean, yeah. It has to play a role in getting people really pissed! I’d vote for anyone who’d guarantee me bacon every morning.

Too much bacon can also lead to atrocities like last year’s shitshow in the good ‘ol US of A. But no matter who you are going to vote for, please vote.

I beg Renault to bring back Matra. AT least they brought back Alpine from the dead.

hahaha, just watched it now :)

Unless Melenchon and LePen end up in the 2nd round... Then, oui fouk eup... But if LePen and anyone else end up in the 2nd round (and LePen most likely will), I think the US could be fairly surprised at the election results...

What percentage is the Front National have in the polls currently?

Recently, at the Dutch elections, foreign news focused on the #1 and #2 in the polls, with #1 being the party of the prime minister and #2 our own populist xenophobe Wilders. What the foreign media failed to recognize was that we don’t have a 2 party system and that #1 got like 20% of the votes and #2 Wilders about 13 or so %, which was an increase over the previous elections and the predicted outcome when watching the polls. Furthermore, the prime minister doesn’t always come from the largest party, he/she comes from the largest party within the majority coalition . The scare tactics in foreign media made absolutely no sense if you knew even a little about Dutch politics, because even when the unlikely happened and Wilders got most votes he’d still not be part of the majority coalition and still wouldn’t become prime minister, as over 80% of voters still voted for the other, mostly somewhat rational, parties. As in: he had 0 chance to be something other than a demagogue opposition personality.
My question being: how’s this in France? What percentage would even consider voting for Le Pen?

20% or so according to the polls for round 1. Round 2 may well feature her but she’d have little chance against Macron.

That said I wouldn’t be surprised to see her at 30% for round 1. She’s always a bit higher than the polls say, which is scary. I’m not a Macron guy, but I’ll happily vote for him againts her. Well, maybe not happily.

Probably. It’s one of those candidates you either loathe or adore. If that 20% is correct I doubt she’ll get more than 30% in round 2. I do say this as someone who knows little about French politics though.

I’m guessing she’s gonna get around 30% of the votes. But it doesn’t work like in your place here, this is only for the president. Then you have the legislatives were we vote for representatives, and the majority from that election gets a prime minister, and it can be from a different party than the president. Because they both have different powers, that can make it quite hard to rule after it. If Macron is president, because his party is brand new, I’m not sure it would get a majority at the legislatives afterwards. This election is getting really really weird and scary.
