Kinja'd!!!

This is the car I got engaged in but have totally forgotten what year it is. Perfect survivor I’m going to try to buy eventually.

It might be easier to narrow down based on the style of the instrument cluster. I think they changed from the old 924 style single podded instruments to a one piece panel assembly in 1985.5, IIRC.

cant really tell from just the outside, if it has a cool dash :

early car. 1982-1985 later dash:

but it isn’t an S or S2 with those phone dial wheels and bumper. Probably would be a 1985.5- 1988

Just a heads up that late interior blows ass.

My dad was thinking it was a 1987 and the single dash confirms that. Thanks bud!

Those are late-offset phone dials. That makes it an ‘87 at the earliest, and an ‘89 at the latest. Assuming that someone hasn’t updated the suspension at some point in the last ~30 years.

It’s a standard NA or the 16-valve S version based on the front fascia.

Someone’s going to play your own game against you someday and you’re going to laugh.

It’s a total survivor that has had one dented panel ever. My dad thought it was a 1987 so between this and Bird is the Word then 1987 it is.

Based on the offset of the wheels, looks like an ‘88 or newer (the wheel offset changed that year). I could be entirely wrong though. I also agree with the others; Early interior FTW. Even though the early cars had a nightmare electrical system.

Ill admit I had to look some of that up, but I had a 1986 that looked just like that (except mine had dents and crappy paint). If you haven’t already look up info on the timing belt isssue these have. On the plus side: no rust (at least there shouldn’t be) and you can always drop an LS motor should you want to. They make kits.

The S had phone dials as standard (though a lot of them had optional upgrade wheels - D90s I believe), and had the N/A style front end. Only the S2 had the Turbo-style front end with the integrated bumper.

This car has been garage kept in Tennessee its entire life and my parents have done all the maintenance on it for at least the last 5 years. It’s a super solid and super fun car, even with the lack of power. Also the perfect red paint draws a lot of attention.

I also get to drive another cool Porsche in May. Can’t afford the mortgage on this one though.

ehh, you can always buy a kit. better than the real thing since you can thrash on them without mercy.

Super jelly if you get to drive a real one though.

It’s very real haha. It’s my bosses. He also has a 991 911, Olds 442, FJ40, FJ55, ‘17 RR Sport, and at least one Disco 90. It was funny because I saw 3 of these running around my city last week. A white one that he said is half real(the drivetrain) and half replica( the body), a blue high quality replica, and then his 1957 Speedster. These pictures were taken 1000 feet from each other sitting at office buildings on a Friday.

Those must be a blast to drive. The body structure kinda scares me though...

Haha yeah I’m very excited. This boss is really neat and im working directly under him so hopefully I can get some more access to really, really neat cars. I love my LS400 but sometimes I just want to go fast slow in the corners and not fast fast on the freeway.
