Motorsport Ranch, Cresson, Texas, 1.7 mile CCW.

Car is completely stock except for wheels (17x8 +45 Enkei RPF1), tires (235/40/17 BF Goodrich G-force Comp 2), and brakes (Motul 600 fluid, G-loc R10 compound pads in OEM Brembo calipers/rotors)

My fastest lap was 1:39.30, not too bad considering it was my first time on that track, my first time driving the BRZ on a track, and there was a turbo FRS in my novice run group hitting 1:32s. I’m happy with myself. My goal is to consistently hit 1:37s by the end of the year.

That’s my home track! I was out there on the 1.7CCW on Tuesday with Track Night in America. You should sign up for the SCCA Club Trials and PDX on May 7 (PDX would help you a ton, it is a great program).

I’m STX autocross prepped(coilovers, headers, exhaust and tune, swaybars, and weels and tires) and I run Bridgestone RE71R’s. I set my personal best on Tuesday with a 1:26.6. I bet we could get you down to under 1:35 just by the end of the PDX (if you take to it you could get down close to 1:30).

I’m 14stu on the FT86 forums and Sam irl. I’m mostly an autocrosser, but I started doing trackdays just under 2 years ago. I’ll look for you at the track!

I’ll look into the PDX today! One of my co-workers suggested the track night but I don’t usually leave my office until 6-7 PM so that wouldn’t have worked out.

The track nights are nice, but only if you can get out of work early (you have to be there by 3pm) and only if you are already comfortable on track (the novice group is scary and doesn’t include any in-car instruction). There is another TNiA on May 2 (I’ll probably be there).

The SCCA Club Trials and PDX are great and I recommend them to anyone into tracking their car. You could also check out one of the local autocrosses. The next one is Saturday at Mineral Wells with the BMW club.

All the local autocross action can be found at: http://dfwautocross.com/

Great start, and glad you did the proper prep to have the car be able to handle multiple sessions. My first track day I ran on stock Primacys with stock pads and fluid - at the end of the first session, the brakes were already getting tired. Upgraded fluid, wheels/tires and went back last year and it was a nice improvement. I’ve got new pads in the garage, so I’ll get those on before heading out this season.

I was planning on coming out to the NTAXS event in May since thats the only one that fits my schedule, I was hoping to make it out this weekend but I got caught up in a company fit challenge.

NTAXS fills up within a day or two of when they open registration (usually the Friday 2 weeks before the event). They are such a great club and the events run so smoothly that they always hit the cap (I missed the last one because I waited until the Monday 12 days before the event and that was too late).

The prep definitely helped, and it should last a while too. For daily driving I put the OEM wheels/tires/brakes back on.
