Honestly the exhaust on the Mustang doesn’t sound bad considering it’s a 31 year old 3.8 liter V6. It’s certainly not fast though.

Back when I was a very young my dad used to have a blue-on-blue quad-headlamp foxbody convertible with the V6. I remember thinking it was the coolest car in the world. Don’t remember it being particularly slow, but considering how our other car at the time was a ‘68 Dart slant 6 the mustang probably felt quick in comparison, especially with the top down. Mind you that Dart was an aging pile-of-whatever at the time but it was still awesome too.
He got it used fairly cheap and by the time we got rid of it (donated to charity) the convertible top was patched in several places with duct tape, one of the taillights was entirely made of red packing tape, the convertible top window was clear packing tape, there were tears on the interior, all of the hubcaps had been stolen, and it wouldn’t run. I still cried when the tow truck took it away.
It was replaced a year later with a used Saab 900S 16V convertible, the other coolest car in the world.

Only 100hp on tap but twice that in lb-ft of torque and it feels quicker than it is and makes all the right muscley noises from inside the cabin. I like it. Girlfriend likes it. My wallet likes it.
