I have a theory. Or at least some questions. But first, watch the new trailer (maybe again).

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

This centers on a small section of this trailer and the second trailer for The Force Awakens. If you don’t remember that one, here it is.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

So these two screenshots are the same scene. I’ve left which video and the time stamp on them. Same position, same lighting, and same cracks in the ground they’re on.

Kinja'd!!!

But what exactly are they looking at? I have to assume it’s a jedi temple or something similar where I assume Luke was trying to train the next generation of Jedi. It’s obviously important because, if I remember correctly, it was in Rey’s series of images when she goes into the basement of that bar and they’ve included it in 2 trailers so far. But what I don’t quite understand is the scene directly following this in the newest trailer. Who is walking up through the fire? I maybe have a vague idea but I’m not quite sure. So that’s my question. Who is it?

Anyway, Aerotech if you made it through my ramblings

Wasn’t the original temple blowed up during order 66? Maybe it’s a different “super secret” temple?

There is no such thing as a beautiful sith lord. Time for Kylo to join the club.

I also 100% expect Skywalker to bite it here. There are two Jedi, and the movie title pretty much confirms at some point there will only be one. Nice knowing you, man.

Well, the plural for Jedi is Jedi so maybe not.

The big dome reminds me of the Naboo architecture but that doesn’t really fit. The figures emerging from the fire (through a shield maybe?) look to be Kylo and either Death Troopers or maybe the Knights of Ren. The middle of the trilogy would be a good time to show more of them.

You mean you not sure who this is?

I mean, it’s pretty clearly Captain Phasma, maybe we’ll actually see her do something .

I’m pretty sure that shot of Rey on all fours, looking panicked, is from the aftermath of her doing the whole face your fear force cave trial thing, like Luke did on Dagobah.

‘The Last of the Jedi’ would be plural. ‘The last Jedi’ definitely is not.

Thats what I’m thinking as well. Too bad her only role in TFA was to act as a hostage

Just watched the trailer for the first time here, and I wonder if it’ll go down a road I was hoping.

Basically, my idea is that the Jedi aren’t ‘good guys’. Or rather, they’re just as dogmatic and acidic as the Sith. They’re two sides to the same coin. Where one preaches full and indiscriminate release of one’s emotions, the other seeks to bury them under misguided spiritualism. You can’t have Jedi without Sith, as the former’s strict doctrines cause the latter.

Luke was the first to break this mold. He was the first Jedi to actually accept the turbulent emotions inside him, rather than bury them in meditation and pretend they didn’t affect him. Luke was never actually a Jedi, he was...something different. Something balanced.

Every time more Jedi pop up, unbalancing the force, Sith appear to bring balance back, and vice-versa. The only way out of that loop is for force-sensitives to tread the line between the two.

Aerotech!

I suppose I don’t qualify as a “fan” because, although I’ve seen all of the movies multiple times, I just can’t get into the detailed analysis that some people live for. I’ll just wait for the next one to come out, wait a few days for the fanboys to clear out, go with my family to see it in the theater once, then buy it on Blue Ray a few months later. I’ll put it in the case right next to the Star Trek DVDs.

They were built all throughout the galaxy so I’m assuming it’s a hidden one.

Tangent: I’m not convinced Mark Hamill/Luke voiced the last phrase in the trailer. I know he’s an accomplished voice actor but it sounds like someone else. Plus, if it is, it changes the time of the trailer significantly

It’ll be interesting. And it’s also taken out of context so that’s part of it.

In the interviews given around TFA, it sounded like they’d planned her as a central character in future movies.
