Who the hell thought using a pre-bankruptcy Chrysler sedan as a taxi was a good idea?

Got 350k out of it, I guess they could have done worse. But I also have no idea what the service life is of a Panther platform taxi, so that may be super low, haha.

Also, who knows how much they spent maintaining it?

There’s a crappy independent taxi company around here that has a stick shift Mark IV Jetta in the fleet. I’ve been seeing it for a few years now.

A local cab driver I run into and have spoken with on occasion at the 7-11 by my house has a Town Car with over 450k on it. The 4.6L engine has never been apart other than the water pump.

I’ve seen 400,000 to 900,000 miles on Panthers.

The same type of person that thought the panthers were a good idea. They were originally chosen because they were cheap and plentiful. That’s exactly what these are.
