The island is off by 180 degrees.
Don’t sit under the side near the sink, that area is too busy. Otherwise, it looks very good, as long as you dig a lot of wood grain.

I like modern.
Clean, tidy and organised.
I like clean, minimal and symmetrical.
It’s a thing I have.
I like wood grain but more, subdued. This wood grain would drive me crazy.

I know that feeling. I had it up until about 2 years ago, when I just couldn’t stand it anymore. I like my kitchen now, but man, what I would do for a double wall oven and more counter space.

I lived in a mews for a while and everything was spacious and minimalist, except the kitchen which was more a kitchenette.
I now live in a terraced house again and the kitchen is a galley kitchen (relatively long and very narrow).
Now I’m older. I love cooking but also having everything in it’s place (which in my kitchen just isn’t possible) and clean and tidy.

I never liked it. It smacks of the mcmodern thing that is a big deal where I live, with affluent normcore people trying to be hip and edgy in their somewhat identical box houses. Which means, of course, it has been adopted by all designs.

Yeah, it has been so overdone that I feel like we’re seeing the future’s version of some of those ghastly styles that were widespread in various eras after the 1950s (the last era where the design never really becomes objectionable for some reason). Every decade after that has been ugly within 10-15 years, but the stuff they’re doing now will make demolition for a major remodel very difficult/expensive.

Well, if they don’t mind living with ugly for as long as they live in the house. Considering practically all houses being sold today are getting kitchen remodels like this, chances are they will have to either replace the garbage they put in or the garbage someone else put in.
