That was a terrible game to watch, and not just cause the Hawks lost. Preds had the neutral zone totally bottled up. There was no flow to the game at all.

Well what happened is GM built the Saturn plant in Spring Hill, about 40 minutes south of downtown and a lot of Red Wings fans moved with them. For around the first 10 years of the teams existence we played in the same division as the Red Wings and while the PREDS really grew their own market of real Preds fans, there was a big crossover that still liked the Wings. Well, 20 years later we no longer play in the same division and the Predators have done an amazing job building their own brand. They’ve worked with local High Schools to and host the Hockey state tournament, they’ve built one rink in East Nashville and are working on another in the west, and performed consistently well. They even sold out every home game this season for the first time. Bringing in PK Subban was a big boost but when you hear what Hockey media people have to say, it’s usually that Nashville is one of the most loyal, while still small(Nashville is not a huge city like a lot of other markets), and best places to watch a hockey game. We take that SEC football mentality and turn it towards hockeyZ. It’s fun.

That’s exactly what the PREDS needed. The Hawks had some of THE best puck movement I’ve seen all year but our players are not afraid to get in front of a puck. If we allowed them to run free and didn’t bottle them up, not even Rinnie could have saved us.

I always hate playing Nashville in the playoffs for exactly that reason. The Preds may not score a lot of goals, but they defend really well, know how to slow down the Hawks, and when Rinne is on, they’re a really hard team to beat—

Lol we hate playing the Hawks because we can usually never win at theUnited Center. We usually get beat harder then a passenger that won’t comply with “re-accommodation”. A lot of us Preds fans were worried about seeing the Hawks first but I was really excited. The only way to the Cup is through the Hawks and this is one of the weaker Hawks team(which isn’t saying a lot) and one of the stronger Preds teams we have seen in a while. UT beat Florida, time for the Preds to get past the Hawks.

Oh, it’s hockey, it’s the Stanley Cup playoffs. Absolutely anything can happen. I could come up with a scenario where the Avs scare the hell out of me if you give me a few minutes. Regarding the Preds, yeah, it seems like the Hawks have always beat them, but the Preds do make it tough, and I’m afraid that it’s only a matter of time. This year’s Hawks don’t defend as well as the Cup teams, and Keith seems to have lost something - so, while I think they’re the best team in the West, it’s wide open. Heck, I recall one year (2010?) where the 5-8 seeds won EVERY 1st round series in the East, and a couple in the West. With the Preds stealing one on the road yesterday, it’ll be an exciting series, either way!
