Meme context: My photography friend was doing a photoshoot with the only two 911Rs in the state, and I HAD to be there. I never thought I’d ever see one, but I saw two.

Last night was really cold only wearing a sweater and jeans, but it was totes worth it. I never thought I see two 911Rs, or look for a coke bottle and hold a pizza box in one.

My life lesson here was to expect the unexpected.

If I understand correcting, one expects the unexpected by expecting nothing.

Nonspecific unexpected: expect that things will happen you didn’t plan for. Specific unexpected: you don’t know exactly what the thing you didn’t plan for is, so you have to make plans when it happens.

It’s confusing because it’s using two subtly different but related version of the verb “expect”. Then again, that’s a mark of elegant wordplay.
