It’s a tough line of work, not physically but mentally and emotionally.
Idk about your dealership, but where I worked one manger was honest and reasonable, but kind of an asshole, and in he would talk to his employees like they were toddlers, and the other was downright corrupt human garbage, who would actually directly tell me to lie to customers, especially about used cars.
I got fired over three years ago because I was below excpected sales numbers(in February), and wouldn’t come in on my day off to catch up. Which isn’t even true I came in for an over an hour made phone calls, and emails, and didn’t see a single customer in the store so I left. Overall I’m glad I got out it. I’d bet 4 years of that business would have changed me for the worse.
I did love “test driving” cars tho, I drove more cars in the 11 months than I can count. Some of my favorites An SRT4 Caliber, 71 Mustang Mach 1, a beat up 4 banger Wrangler, a laughably terrible Avalanche, a brand new Wrangler Rubicon with a manual trans, a Police intercepter Explorer with the hopped up 3.7l. I got to snow Drift lots of things 300cs, Ford TaurusX, and a S197 Mustang, a 2010 Legacy.
