Is it bad that I love this?

Kinja'd!!!

Am I ill? I want this. The ad says all the cosmetic stuff is reversible, but I wouldn’t. I might even embrace the ridiculousness and lower it. What is wrong with me? I wonder if there’s an easy engine swap that would make it fast.

I’m going to need to take a long lunch today. Maybe lie down for a bit.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

ETA: I’m not actually going to buy this.

Well I almost bought a Ponton when I was looking for a Benz. I was still in Hawaii and a guy that worked for Pan Am had one that he had flown there. I soon realized how much cash I would spend fixing things. They are pretty expensive to work on, unless you find good used parts that is MBZ Classic Dept. territory. I mean just painting one properly is going to be expensive.

Not particularly rare or extremely valuable, so it’s not a big loss. W180 isn’t as common as lower lines, but it is still a sedan. I doubt the work under the wrap is exactly concours quality anyway, might as well have fun with it. It can all be reverse, should Pontons gain value.

A M127 fuel injected engine should drop right in, and maybe some of the later I6 with FI that had a little more power, but anything else might become project car hell. Price is probably a tad optimistic given its needs.

I like it but wish there were more photos.

Why would I paint it when it’s already wrapped in glorious matte gray vinyl?

Oh they wrapped it, that’s good, I didn’t read it. Restored in the Philippines can be a bad thing. I’ve seen Vespas restored there and it was funky.

I almost bought a Ponton and from my research that price is probably CP. although I do love them now. But I wanted to do an engine swap in it.
