Another reminder that my family has a lake house with two free bedrooms 40 minutes from the end point if you’d rather just go to sleep after driving 200 miles instead of driving all the way back, first come, first serve, reserve your spot ASAP.

I really wish I could make it to the Oppo Rally. But I cant convince my girlfriend that going to this is more important the holiday weekend BBQs with her friends. Can’t really just go without her since I do actually want to spend the time with her too. Damn holiday, why cant memorial day be some other weekend lol.

The house is in a marina. If you look in the background you can see a couple dozen more masts. I took the photo in December when all the boats were dry docked

I took the photo in late December, all the boats were in dry dock. The water is just below my crop on the aerial photo. Probably about 100-150 from front door of the house to the water.

Cool...I can’t say I’ve ever seen a dry dock on blocks like that. Sailboats are rare down here (Gulf Coast), so most dry-docking is under cover because you don’t have a mast to worry about. Plus some people just leave their boats in the water (and use them) year-round. I’m glad I’m not the insurer for the guy who has to unload those beasts with that giant forklift.
