volvo is THE company to compete with subaru as long as they dont price themselves out of the race. Subaru does just about everything right for the everyday casual buyer except for interiors, which volvo does (or at least used to do) quite well. Quirky and turbo for extra cool factor.

who cares though. If this were stretched for 5 door proportions, it would just be a super pretty wagon. Who complains about volvo wagons? Especially maybe finally something to give the GTI a run for its money.

Lukewarm take: This may not be as pretty as it could be without the ride height and cladding, but for it to sell in the US this is the perfect look it needs. It will literally trick CUV buyers into buying a 2 door hatch because it looks mildly like a baby xc90.
Their other option would be to make it a 5 door and finally give the GTI a solid competitor, and with a lifted version to target subaru. Either way cool things happening.
