Kinja'd!!!

The nose will probably settle just a little over time and no, I have no intention to mount bigger tires. Still happy with my relatively decent 17-18mpg fuel mileage driving however I want. Though I am curious to see how a little lift (2.5" Front/2.0" Rear) might affect my economy over the longer term.

Just a couple dozen highway miles driven so far but when I pounded across the local double railroad track crossing on the way to the office I was impressed how much the felt road impacts and the rear rebound were significantly lessened.

Headed to the 60mi long uninhabited stretch of Padre Island National Seashore this weekend. Lots of soft sand, buried obstacles, and washboard tracks. Looking forward to it!

sweet, can’t wait to hear about it. Though you at least need some better looking tires on there. it just so looks too odd.

Spoken like a true Duratrac fanboy, lol!

My Cooper A/T3s scoff at your need for pretentious sidewall tread and sing to me a much softer lullaby on my drive to work every day.

Better-looking tires indeed. Next thing you’ll be telling me I need to wash the truck for the first time in six months...

Love the no rack look, although I would be putting a Prinsu on it myself..

Looking good! What year is it? I sold my 07 and miss it a lot. Prices for used FJ’s are insane right now.

Someday I might get a BajaRack Utility Rack because I like the no frills aesthetic and all the other flat racks can’t seem to match the Wide model’s 55"Wx82"L platform size (91"L Overall). I like the look of the welded tubing as well.

I’ve helped a friend assemble a FrontRunner rack for his 80-Series and that thing is pretty darn awesome, but +$1100 for their 49"Wx77"L platform is kinda meh in my book. On the Prinsu the price is very competitive though I’m not sure of the actual platform dimensions, but I can imagine the cross section 80x20 aluminum crossbars can set up quite a howl at highway speeds.

Who am I kidding? It took me 150k miles to put suspension on an FJC. At this rate I’ll be retired before I buy a roof rack, lol.

Well, I say that. But then the other day I fell in love with an awning...

2008 that I bought used with ~12k miles in Sept 2010 for $24k from CarMax. Had no idea I was getting in before ‘it was cool’ to do so.

At 150k miles I still have the local dealer sending me monthly offers to trade-in for $10k off of a Tundra. Nope.

Now if they said $10k off a TRD Pro 4Runner or Taco... But that will never happen.

When I bought the full racks like Gobi and BajaRack were shipping prohibitive for a Canadian. Frontline and Prinsu both come in pieces, but I’d been following Zach at Prinsu through Tacoma World since he started designing his racks.

btw, they ship now with 1x2" double x bars - and no howling on my Cabrac at all.
