There are about 5-6 WS6 trans am’s on my local Craigslist... with prices ranging from $45,000 to $60,000. These things have skyrocketed 5x in the past couple years.

WHAT!?

I am genuinely stunned.

That’s used Z06 money. Are those F-Body’s any good to drive in stock form?

I passed one up a few years back, the asking price was $12.5 CAD. Medium kms, great shape. I passed it up because it was a 13 year old GM for 5 figures.

Yea what!? I have always hated the look of these things. A coworker had a white one and it was fast and all but boy was it an ugly rattle box.

Don’t be. Just because they’re listed at that doesn’t mean people are paying it.

Looking at eBay, I don’t even see any listed at that much. Complete listings look like they’re more in the $10-20k range, depending on condition.

Still a LOT (certainly way more than I’d pay) but nowhere near the numbers in the original post.

Are people actually buying them at that price or are these 5 guys validating each other’s prices?

Huh? Why?

There’s one near me. Good condition, 37k miles, $14k, which seems crazy high to me.

Unless those have zero miles on them, they need a reality check:

That’s just a quick search there’s a pile more on there.

I’m one of those weirdos that loves me some F-body madness, but I just could never get behind that nostril face. Can see what makes it worth Jaguar money.

Uhhhhh, you might be living in a “special” neighborhood. They are all around $5-7k in my AO with a few under $2k. The nicest built up ones aren’t topping $15k. Here’s a 500 hp built bird for $13,900.

And a beater for $1,300

Most are in good shape for $5-7k.

A dealership in my town had one on their lot last fall. I think they had it priced around $11k. It was in excellent condition, had low miles, and had the manual trans. I think $45k sounds completely crazy

$15k near me for a couple (both around 50k on em). One with 11k miles on it for $22k, which I still think is a bit crazy. There’s one CP at $30k, but it only has 2900 miles on it.

And to think I almost got one over the 4Runner. If I didn’t crash and die, it could have been an investment.

My son owns a 2000 6 speed black WS6 with t-tops. He bought it a year ago as a reliable daily. Paid 6k for it and has put another 1k in maintenance items on it. Dead reliable and inexpensive to fix, T56 shifts great, and with the addition of long tubes and a better cat back, sounds incredible when driven in anger. He recently updated the wheels, which helps with the looks. I was never a fan of the overly long snout on these things, but it’s grown on me after driving it. Cruise, ABS, Traction control, etc. . .Much better than buying a used Camry. 50-60k is just plain nuts, but 6-20k is a good range for an LS powered F-body. I still say a C5 is a better choice if you don’t need 4 seats. He’s been keeping an eye out for a used C5 Z06, but those things aren’t getting any cheaper either. . .

HA!

Big IF right there. But I really don’t think they’re that good of an investment, his market is waaaay skewed on their pricing. What I posted was a small sample, there’s like 30+ for sale in Metro Detroit

It was in good condition for $4k. LS1/T56. High miles, but otherwise nice. Also, stock. Completely stock.
