Part of getting older and more mature is getting enough sleep at night - less video games, less cheap booze, and less chasing tail. More being responsible, more taking wife out for a night out and more going to sleep at reasonable hour. That last part is the one responsible for person getting enough sleep. Energy and enthusiasm comes with it.

I was a running coach for three years.
I quit after getting yelled at for complaining about 6 am start times. (When you get stuck with water setup, that means up at 4:45...screw THAT).

As I get older I find that I put myself to bed earlier, sleep later, and behave more responsibly, and still don’t have the energy I had as a kid.

I’m 34 and a health and fitness nerd, working out all the time and eating good healthy stuff with little to no drinking, ever. Even when I get to bed at a nice early hour, I’m just not a morning person.
My wife is much more of an early-to-bed type and when I go on vacation my sleep schedule will shift more towards hers, so if we go to bed at like 10:30, I’ll naturally wake up around 7. BUT, I still am not energetic in the morning. I’m like, ok, let’s laze around, make some coffee, have some breakfast, chill out, maybe think about what we’re going to do that day, take our time, and eventually start the day. I am not OK LET’S GO DO ACTIVITIES RIGHT NOW IT’S MORNING YAY.
Back in the real world, if I get to bed at 11:30 and wake up at 7:30, then I’m ok but still not rearing to go. But I’d just as soon stay up til 1 and wake up whenever it happens on its own, if I had my choice.
