For inspiration, here are the cars I’ve owned so far (sorted by buy date):
1991 Renault Clio 1,9 D (sold, came back after 4 years, parted out)
1987 Peugeot 505 GTD (sold, came back after 6 years, standing)
1989 Peugeot 505 GTD (daily driver for years, started sipping way to much oil, currently engineless for rebuild)
1988 Peugeot 205 CTI (sold, had to go after the money for months)
1989 Peugeot 205 CTI (sold, engine failure 4 months later)
1996 Peugeot 306 cabriolet (bought with engine failure, repaired, driven for 2 years, sold with engine failure, was repaired)
1997 Honda CRX del Sol (sold to Honda fan)
2004 Mazda RX-8 192 (crashed it badly, crashed me badly)
2005 Renault Mégane RS (had it for sale, was offered a newer A4 in exchange)
2006 Audi A4 1,9 TDI (sold)
2006 Peugeot 307 CC (spent way too much for fixing the roof after I couldn’t find the problem, sold)
2004 Mazda RX-8 231 (bought with a tired engine, rebuilt, driven for 2 years, sold, missed)
1987 Mitsubishi Pajero (was my dads, engine died in 2006, we spent 7 years repairing it when we had the time and motivation, he gave it to me after we were done)
2003 Mazda 6 (bought from a friend with engine failure, repaired, sold, shared profit with friend who used to own it)
2006 Audi A4 1,9 TDI (bought with low miles from a retiree, left me stranded 4 times in 14 months - sold last week to a friend - will certainly last forever now)
1960 Bel Air V8 (probably not as reliable as I think it is)
1988 Peugeot 505 V6 (needs welding, brakes, and suspensions to get roadworthy again)
1960 Bel Air L6 (currently blocking a lift, missing engine, transmission and all front wishbones)
2010 Renault Mégane RS (couldn’t register it because administration is terrible, brought it back to the dealer)
2013 Peugeot 208 GTI (currently my daily driver)

As for the story, as RT replied. Car was crashed in France, exported to Germany unrepaired, repaired in Germany, and can’t be brought back to France because to get back on the grid in France it should have been checked by an expert during and after the repair.

Agreed....the Euro 504 sedans looked much nicer than ours did here with the terrible 5mph plastic bumpers.
That being said, there was a mint green, low mileage diesel later-model 504 sedan for sale in Quebec (middle of nowhere Quebec) for like $1500 with low-ish kms a few years back. I really wish I had gone there and bought it because it would’ve still been awesome....slow as backwards molasses, but awesome!

The 505 turbo diesel is by far my favorite everyday car to drive, it’s neither quick nor fast, but you can go flat out in the corners, which gives it a good
slow car fast
feeling. I really need to speed up my project so I can take it back to the road.
People often mistake my car for a 504, even though they look way different. But it shows how these cars were forgotten

The 304, 304 and 504 (I like the coupe, but I weirdly like the 504 sedan more! :P) are my favorite Peugeots, followed by the 505 and 205. :)

Had a chance to get a solid 204 once, just needed some engine overhaul and new rubber, the interior was in perfect condition and the paint serviceable. But I didn’t have the place for it. The seller was ready to sell it for 200€ to keep it in France.

I was shocked how tall the Twingos, Clio, and 208 were in comparison with the various coupes that were present. I mean, I know they are taller, but on the group photos, my mirrors are on the level of the mx-5's roof line

Very cool....I should move to Europe someday. I’m not a domestic car guy at all here in Canada, so I would much prefer having an old Peugeot, Citroen or FIAT in my garage than a Ford Mustang,or old American land barge (not that I don’t respect them, they just aren’t my thing!) :P
200 Euros is a very fair price for a decent 204! :D I think I like them most, design-wise, out of the 204/304/504 trio - they have a slight curviness to their styling the 304/504 don’t quite have. :)
Can’t wait until I can import my 126!
