I have something that I believe I can use, that would at least deflect things away from the oil pan.

Most skid plates are pretty thick that looks like a heatshield at best. To try it drop the factory tray, Drill some holes and trim it up a bit see if it fits.

There is no tray. So something is better than nothing.

Ugh I hate skid plates/heat shields on daily drivers. I dropped a screwdriver in the Mini’s engine bay this weekend and couldn’t get it out. I then used a magnet to get it out, and the magnet clip broke off, so now there’s screwdriver and an clip with a magnet on it on the plate/shield under the engine bay.

Fortunately this happened because I was pulling the NM Power Module out to take it in for scheduled maintenance so they’ll pull those pieces out when they drop the panel hahaha

wow a car with no under tray......make sure you leave a spot so you can get to your drain plug and oil filter.

Yeah... The engine is just chilling about 6" from the ground.

I’d rather have one since I do occasionally treat it like a rally car.

This seems like a poor engineering decision...(low engine/no tray I mean, not your attempt to put a tray on it!)

I replaced my FoST felt/plastic under tray with a real skid after an incident, bought not made by me. I just take it off for every oil change. I do wish it had better hardware/mounting solution .

The FiST has no tray.

Same for me. A little extra work for oil changes, but worth it for sure. It’s taken some hits.

That’s $225 at the least.

$225, and thoroughly engineered and tested to ensure it won’t fail or cause some other problem (temperature issues, directing water some place you don’t want it, etc)

I would buy one rather than build... I’ve never heard a story that ends with, ‘sure glad I didn’t buy a real skid plate..’

Well, I mean, it’s a Fiesta. It’s not going rock crawling. I just want something to deflect debris.

Who is this skid plate guy and do they do custom or just plates for the FiST?

He’s a fabricator out of Syracuse. He sells skid plates for a number of cars trucks and has done custom work before. Custom does cost extra, and he would need a test vehicle he could use to mock up the design and check mounting, fitment, clearance etc. No website, but he is in facebook

Hmm, wonder if he’s ever made one for a fox body before
