So I applied more pigment to the wheels

Huh, so will the head not come loose?

Have you tried turning it over so the compression pops it upwards?

dead-blow hammer + engine hoist (or tractor with repaired hydraulics) put upward pressure on it and whale on that sombitch with the dead-blow.

needed replacement if it blew before the tractor left the ground.

So can you move it around but it just won’t lift off? Or is it unbolted, but seized in place somehow?

If it’s the latter, I recommend graphite grease when re-installing. It’s what Triumph Sprint/Slant4/Stag people do to stop their head studs corroding into the alloy head (which with those engines having slanted head studs usually means drilling them out, with a significant risk or wrecking the head).

It moves around fine. I’m begining to think one of the studs may be tweaked a bit.

This is going to sound crazy. Find a cylinder that’s at tdc with the valves closed. Break off the top of a spark plug and tap it for a grease zerk. Grease gun next.

I’ve done that on bearings. Never on a cylinder. I might just have to try that

It works on motorcycle jugs.

Huh that is very strange...

When it’s being lifted, is it being lifted dead level? I’m sure you’ll have thought of this but if one side is lifting more it’ll wedge against the studs.
