Kinja'd!!!

15,700 miles and I think my rotors are slightly warped. Braking over halfway full from 60-65 produces an ever so slight vibration. Nothing bad, but it’s there. It doesn’t shake the steering wheel but I can feel it all the same.

There are two things that can cause this: heat and over tightening their lug nuts. Neither of which has happened in excess as far as I know. Sigh.

At least I know a local shop that can turn the rotors. We had to have my wife’s CX-5's rotors turned at 30k and I attributed it to her driving. Now, I’m not so sure.

you missed one other possible reason, pad deposits. if its pad deposits, you can fix it with a rotor hone for about $30. Unfortunatly there is no good way to tell the difference between a warped rotor or pad deposits.

That does seem odd, maybe try rotating the tires.

I had the same problem in my 3. Under certain braking conditions the steering wheel would shake/shimmy somewhat but braking effectiveness seemed unaltered. It went away on its own before I had a chance to have it looked at

I had that happen on my Mazda 3 at about 45,000 - I chocked it up to several less than successful trips to tire shop. I priced turning the rotor and it’s not that much more to get brand new ones - and that completely solved the problem.
