Why is it so hard to find these types of cars?

Kinja'd!!!

All I want is a ‘67 Pontiac Firebird 400 hopefully with a 4 speed. The rest I could make mine, but I would love a patina one like above. Just to drive and such. But of course that would cost $20k for that. I hate people.

All depends on where you are. Friend of mine was able to pick up a ‘70 Mustang for $6,000 in Kansas. Drove it until the axle fell off. Now it’s getting restomodded.

It’s even harder to find an OHC 6.

That is because all of those got Chevy 350s unfortunately.

would be cheaper to buy a body from dynacorn at this point.

Speaking of which, dynacorn is making firebird bodies! huzzah!

Somebody call me when they make a second gen.

it’s hard because for the most part, only the high end, desirable ones were preserved. That means Trans Ams with the big engines. Unfortunately, most of the ones people actually bought were sixes and the small V8s like the 326 and 350. Those- sadly- were basically used up and thrown away back then.

it’s like the 1957 Chevy. Everyone knows the ‘57 Chevy Bel Air, especially when meticulously restored ones show up at auctions or car shows. Unfortunately, most of the ‘57 Chevies sold were the lower-spec 150 or 210, and hardly anyone kept one of those. For every Bel Air which still exists today, thousands of 150s and 210s went to the scrap heap, or rusted away to the earth whence they came.

Actually by numbers of firebirds and camaros out there that were made, there are more with V8s than there should be

Ehh. You are maybe looking at 14 grand elsewhere in the country. Anything prior to 1974 is unobtanium
