Some cars are not long for this world. Take this 2004 Nissan Almera, usually a reliable thing.

It’s just over half the age of my car and apart from the obvious issues front and rear looks OK but the tax, insurance and annual test all expired in 2016 and it seems to be going no further. I’m guessing the owner has retired from driving but can’t face getting rid of it.

Nah, it’s just a hateful Nissan, bigger than a micra, smaller than a primera. We get the new version as the Pulsar in the UK. It was called a pulsar in other markets.

Looks cute to me as someone that doesn’t see these shitboxes everywhere.

Is that like a hatch version of the Sentra we get over here in the states? (Or maybe rather we get the “sedan” version of the Almera?)

They’re really not THAT bad. Dull but reliable and okay to drive.

That doesn’t seem to bear any resemblance to a US Nissan. Is it slightly bigger than the Micra, but smaller than the...what’s next in Europe? Sentra? I know the Versa was never sold as a Nissan there, right?

They actually made an Almera sedan, I dont believe it shares anything with the Sentra.

A quick search looks like its an N15 chassis that North America never got . Versions sold as Almera, Pulsar, Lucino, Sentra(non-US) and also related to Infinity G20.

According to that article, they’re two different cars, but similar missions. (except in NZ where they called it a Sentra. Because NZ always has to be weird)

Ah, the Almera N16.

MS Platform, pretty much slotted between the smaller Almera Tino N10, which was apparently sold for 2 years in Japan before introduced to Europe (and discontinued in Japan a year after it was introduced in Europe) and sold simply as the Tino, and the larger Primera P12.

It’s just a regular compact. Competes with the Golf, Focus, Astra, Corolla and then like.
