Kinja'd!!!

240 made my SC look like the land yacht that it is. They went out of their way to park at the back of the lot where I was, it’s a good feeling.

And since most of the car culture up here consists of Bro-trucks and Subaru’s,I was surprised.

The 1UZ is a drug you can’t kick. I love my LS400. What year is yours because that VVTI in my ‘98 made a huge difference.

Mines a 92 but it’s been manual swapped with a 350z 6 speed. It definitely changed the car. As per highly scientific tests with my brothers 99 LS, Highway acceleration is on par with the vvti or slightly better. Buuut my cars also stripped so that had something to do with those results. I’ve definitely been bitten by the 1uz bug, I have dirty thoughts about turbos or 2uz blocks.

I’ve always wondered how much quicker the VVTI is over pre ‘97. LS=stripped it SC so that’s a pretty good measurement. I like that manual swap though! Was the 350z just an easy swap or was there another reason to go that route?

This is the LS you totally made from two cars right? Totally out of place in NorCal.

The SC was put together from two cars, it’s kinda a long story

I bought a different SC that was already swapped and did the swap into this car but I would’ve picked the Nissan tranny anyway. The reason being, they are common, 6 speeds is greater than 5 in mind, Transmissions from supras or sc300 are more desirable thus expensive and they require an adapter just like the Nissan trans. Nissan trans is known to handle abuse well. The swap was not necessarily easy, you take the old tranny out and the Nissan tranny barely fits so you can’t get the bell housing bolts on once you got the adapter on. To remove the transmission I found it was easiest to just drop the front subframe, motor, tranny and suspension as a unit. The clutch M/C isn’t too bad as the firewall already has reliefs in the correct spot. This setup uses a clutch pedal from Excessive and a custom clutch line. Due to the tranny adapter replacing a starter requires dropping the entire motor etc. Its not too difficult to swap but it’s expensive. That’s why I bought one that was already swapped, it was $2400 with a few other goodies and the swap itself is around $2000 as it is.
