... Here it is again! I love racing things on wheels... But I’ll never get to race those. And that makes me sad, genuinely sad.

You could build a replica of these. The cars up to 1992 season didn’t yet use any super trick methods. Things went crazy only after 155 started racing. A W201 M-B should an easy choice to start from.

It is, but I’m not as interested in the cars alone as I’m interested in the cars put on the tracks with similar cars and raced in ways you don’t see anymore today...

Basically high level proper door to door racing with awesome cars.

And yes you have British Touring Cars but you know... it’s not classic DTM :)

Let’s build a bunch replicas then. I have a BTCC replica Opel Vectra A already coming up...

One Finnish guy made a pretty authentic looking W201 DTM replica that was eligible in our local “roadsport class”. Sadly he crashed with it in the August’s race. It had silly looking rear light and a hood scoop, but otherwise it looked really nice. The engine choice was interesting, as it was powered by an E46 M3's engine.

In UK they have been racing with the 90's BTCC cars for couple of years, and I think I have seen some DTM cars participating in some other race classes.
