Are we really starting to call cars from the ‘90s survivors now?

Fuck.

I had one of these in that color, but with stock wheels and no wood dash. Great for eating up the highway miles. Too bad the engine blew up at 86k miles, which I’m told is highly unusual for this engine. Anyway, you could do far worse for that sum.

I’ve never noticed how much wood trim these had inside. Maybe some of it is above and beyond, but this thing could rival a Maybach for its wood paneling.

I would actually pay asking price. Probably a $30k car in its day.

I mean, special case cars like the Supra and 240 SX where most of them have been FUBAR, sure. But a Buick Riviera? Even a supercharged one? C’mon now.

Personally, I don’t believe 22 years is enough for a car as modern and durable as ‘95 to be called “survivor.” Noep. Not old enough!

Well.. That’s a fair point.

Needs the stock wheels or at least another aftermarket set that isn’t so hideous.

I question the dash. Those cloth covers are usually hiding bad cracks. Other than that, it appears nice. I think the price is way off though, even with that mileage....

This one is one third of the price with 62k miles....

Do you live where rust happens? I do, and I rarely see cars from the 90's on the road at all, and it’s shocking when I see one that’s clean.

Wow, it even has a bench seat! I’d cruise the hell out of that.

I’m used to these...

Kinja'd!!!

Or these....

Kinja'd!!!

I sincerely doubt the ones pictured in the original ad up top are in fact stock.

man, i can’t find any pictures but a ladyfriend in high school had one as her first car and I swear they were the same wheel. even had a buick logo in the center.

probably both just ugly-ass aftermarket wheels though, my bad.

Rust does happen in Virginia, yes. I see plenty of ‘90s cars, and I feel like I have actually been seeing more of them recently than, say, four years ago or so.

That’s weird. I wonder if a bunch of cars originally owned by elderly people got sold of or something?

I’m in Chicagoland, where things rust really badly. Last week I saw a third gen Escort and nearly spit my coffee out from shock. Then yesterday I spotted a Grand Prix, and it occurred to me that I’m not even sure when was the last time I saw one.

If there’s anything that ‘90s cars had to broadly survive, I think it’s the Cash 4 Clunkers program. But, I think that ate more ‘80s cars and really just pumped more recent cars into the used market, making the used ‘90s cars less desirable. Things are now normalizing again. I see lots of ‘90s sedans (Cavaliers, Carollas, Civics, etc.), Ford and Chevy SUVs, pickup trucks of all sorts. Been seeing some W-bodies, too. Mustangs and Camaros out the wazoo.

That being said, the cars trend more toward late-’90s and not early ‘90s. Don’t see many blunted corners, it’s more jellybean and proto-00s.
