That looks awfully big to be a 250 watt amp. Nice though.

Amps in that era were notorious for being underrated and overbuilt. They were big, but bullit proof. I’d expect even under worst case conditions, that amp will crank out well more than 250 watts and do so continuously under the most brutal temperature conditions.

No doubt that thing will put up with some abuse. I still have a couple earthquake amps on the shelf and my truck has the JL amps powering that stereo. A 400/1 and a 400/4 or something like that. I remember the Orion stuff being priced in the same market as the jl amps, and that was pretty high end back in the day.
