Kinja'd!!!

I went to the same orthopedic surgeon this morning who did my ACL surgery. He did another set of Xrays and examined me. No breaks, no dislocation or destroyed joints. I have a nasty contusion and a Grade 2 sprain of the joint between the clavicle and the shoulder. He said 3-4 weeks in the sling, but If I feel better sooner I can take it off. Depending on recovery, there may or not be physical therapy. But this means I will be out of the sling and able to drive the Sunchaser to Toyotafest!

All in all, not a bad outcome for 45 year old fat guy crashing a Vespa. I got lucky and need to be more careful.

That robot arm would have been cool, though.

Get well soon! And I hear you on robo parts. I have someone who owes me a robotic eye.

You’ll be more machine than man soon enough. Don’t rush it.

I have held a robotic prosthetic arm worth about $250k, it’s said that falling on it is akin to tripping on a Lamborghini. Really cool tech and build though.

Good luck on your recovery. They didn’t have me wear a sling while I recovered from my shoulder separation (sprain of the AC joint, not sure if that’s what you have), which was probably a bad idea, since (a) it healed a bit out of position so the clavicle protrudes a bit further on that side, and more importantly, (b) it turns out I also pretty bad labrum tear that I ended up needing to have repaired.

I’d take that robot arm though. Also robot legs, and possibly robot spine. Not entirely happy about the fact that I have only one fully functional limb, though I guess it’s pretty good that the other three mostly work at this point.
