Kinja'd!!!

The Regal is now in its 6th generation. The first two were RWD A and G-body cars. The second two were “sport sedan” developments of the W-body. And the most recent two have been Opel-based. FUN FACT:

The TourX is also the second generation of Regal wagon after a brief stint from 1982-83 after the Century sedans switched to FWD.

Also based on what you posted, each platform hosted exactly 2 generations each: A/G (I consider the two RWD platforms the same until A became FWD), W, Epsilon.

That’s certainly true of the W. Epsilon II and E2XX aren’t related. And neither are the 1973-77 A-bodies related to the 1978-87 A/G-bodies. The dimension and weight differences alone are vast between A-body generations.

Eh, I always thought the D and E in D2XX and E2XX stood for Delta and Epsilon, with XX being the market code.

Sure, but that doesn’t mean they’re the same platforms. It just shows lineage.

The 1968-79 X-body and the 1980-85 X-body had zero in common.
