Updated update: made an appointment at the dealer because they were busy at the moment but next Monday they will tear down my fob and fix or replace it.

Walked to my car just now, prayed the remote would work and that I wouldn’t have to “break into” my own car, pressed the unlock, and it worked, started up just fine. I’m confused and still taking it to the dealer.

Have you tried replacing the battery?

Shouldn’t have to, the car too new, but I’m going to request that at the dealer, it’s on the way home anyways

Yeah, but new car doesn’t always mean the battery in the key fob is new. Could have been made in China, shipped to Germany, sat in a warehouse for years, etc etc.

I’ve not checked through all the posts to see if this has been asked yet but when you said pressed the unlock, was that on the key fob or through some door handle sensor (and the key fob being in your pocket for example)?

I had used the fob, normally I can press a button on the door and it locks/unlocks but I sometimes press the fob button. If the door doesn’t work, I press the fob to make sure, neither worked this morning

there goes my idea then, if you were just using the door handle to get in with the key in your pocket I would’ve said the signal is being blocked as I had that with my BRZ, if my key was behind my phone in my pocket it wouldn’t work
