The Eastern Bloc had some interesting vehicles. Busses by Ikarus were all over Sowjet countries.

They improved a lot over the past years. The VDL Bova ones were kinda hideous, so there wasn’t really anyway they could make their designes worse.
They are getting quite technologically advanced as well, due to all the cooperation between VDL and the rest of the “Smartest Square Kilometer in the World”, including my university.
