. In what seems to be a fast paced, disturbing trend here in SoCal, another Cars and Coffee event has been shut down. 5 years ago there was dozens of meets every day of the week all over SoCal, and now it’s one or two a week here or there. Too many idiots attending now who feel the need to show off their 89hp shitbox or plow their pony car through crowds and planters, causing property managers to pull out support for the meet and not allow future car events, thus ruining the scene for the enthusiasts that just want to meet and hang out. It’s just really sad that one or two idiots have to ruin everything for a large group and throw away all the time and effort the organizers put into holding these events.

What if you just banned mustangs from the event? I feel like that would reduce burnous and accidents by at least 90%. You’d get damn close to 100% if you included camaros and corvettes in that too.

Honestly, the Mustangs aren’t the problem at our events, it’s the old guys in Vettes and Camaros.

It’s all the Mustang owners faults. Instead of canceling these great events just banish Mustangs or just host a mustang demo derby since they will probably crash anyways.

Likewise out here, the Mustangs aren’t the main problem. 95% of the Mustang owners are reasonable and good people, leaving at normal parking lot speeds. There is one “crew” of SN95s and early S197s that is a bunch of jerks, but they’ve been banned from nearly every event from the border up to upper LA.
The main problem is the Camaro owners, specifically the 5th generation owners. The runner-up would be the running-on-their-last-leg mid-to-late 90s Honda* owners that need to compensate for their ego.
* = Disclamier = we have some really nice, clean, well built (and one completely stock) mid-to-late 90s Hondas show up - and they are civil people. It’s the idiots with the trashed cars that are the problem.

While I’d approve and love to (maybe even pay to) watch a Mustang demo derby; out here the main problem with the pony cars is actually the Camaros, rather then the meme-inspiring Mustangs.

It’s the same mentality for both I guess, I’ve been to a few C&Cs and have yet to see any of the mayhem that gets posted online in person .
