Do all companies use the same steering wheel now?

No, they just all use the same Takata airbag.

Well, the first wheel you posted belongs to a Mazda and the last one belongs to a Toyota that is itself a rebadged Mazda. So, yes, those two do use the same wheel.

Yeah, I think it’s because of the airbag packaging.

The last one doesn’t count -- the Toyota iA is just a rebadged Mazda 2, with nearly every bit of the interior lifted from the parts bin shared between it and the Mazda CX-3. It only makes sense that it uses the same steering wheel (that’s also used by the Mazda 3).

Four spokes 4lyfe!! Seriously, the three-spoke trend is just a weak effort to make everything seem sporty, since 3-spoke wheels were traditionally the realm of sports cars. But then again, I never thought I see a day where 18" wheels and 35-series tires would be the norm on family sedans. Here’s one of my favorite 4-spoke sporty wheels. It does everything pretty well, including airbags in later models:

They differ a little, but they’re all 3 spokes with a circular center.

Awwww, yeah...back before they figured out how to make the horns and airbags work together. I actually found myself honking less (and a lot later) because you had to work to find those buttons. Meep meep!

The only two that definitely come from the same OEM are Toyota and Mazda (but Mazda has upgraded their steering wheel design from that one anyways). Besides, three-spoke steering wheels are the best.

That Toyota badge looks so bad on that wheel. Like someone just slapped it on in a space that wasn’t designed to contain a Toyota logo.

Oh, that’s right, it isn’t actually a Toyota to begin with.

No...you’re just pulling up 3 spoke wheels with buttons. But I actually wish they were more standardized. Here are some “different” current wheels that come to mind:

The 0 is off.

Parking lights is either the P with the 3 lines on it, or the two half-circles back to each other with 3 lines on either side.

Low beams is the D with the 4-5 diagonal down/left lines.

Front fog lights are like the low beam but with a squiggle line over the diagonal lines. Rear fog lights are the same but the lines are straight sideways to the right instead of diagonal down left. Occasionally a car without rear fogs will use straight sideways squiggle to the left. But left is front, right is rear.

Auto has an A in it in some fashion.

That wasn’t so hard!

Yes, I can certainly figure it out but words would just be easier. Even if it was the wrong language (aside from chinese characters or something) I would have an easier time figuring it out. I always prefer the turn signal or wiper stalk with the lights on it instead anyways. These dials in newer cars are less straightforward. But I imagine cheaper/cleaner to install.

It’s also nice having the headlights and high beams in the same place.

To be fair, BMW has been using the dial to the left of the wheel since at least the e30. Personally I think it significantly de-clutters the stalks. And it beats the hell out of the GM “one stalk to control them all” setup on my wife’s buick. I like all my stalk’s functions to be accessible without me needing to remove my hands from the wheel, and you can’t do that when you are essentially having to play bop-it to get the wipers set to intermittent.
