Kinja'd!!!

Asking prices are higher than I’ve ever seen for these now. Machines I used to buy for $500-$700 and flip quick are getting $1000 or better. In beater condition! It’s time to brave CL once again. This time we’re going ridiculously high. $2751.32.

A confused Doggo for your time.

Don’t get me wrong, I love vehicles with handlebars, but...what is the attraction here? They stopped making these deathtraps for a reason.

It’s crazy how expensive trikes are getting all of a sudden, even ratty hard tails are asking $500+, non runners still go for a couple hundred. I’m glad I got mine when I did.

The hardtails are the biggest offenders. I think that’s what’s driving the price of suspended bikes higher.

There is a 350X for $1500 near me right now with a broken frame and not running. That’s nuts there.

I think it’s a little of both, I’m no expert in the field of 3-wheeling, I only got into it about 3 years ago, but over those years I’ve noticed the popularity of them has increased quite a bit, especially the performance machines. With performance machines getting more expensive, the hardtail guys think their trikes are suddenly worth more, and when the hardtails get expensive, suspended trike owners feel that their machine is worth much more than a silly hardtail (I know I do) and the cycle repeats. The performance machines I get, and the hardtails are just trying to get in on that action, the one machine I just don’t understand the crazy prices on however is the Big Red. Big Red prices are crazy.

It’s one of those things. If you don’t know, you don’t know.

There’s a long story behind their “ban”.

I’ll admit I’ve never ridden one, and that I prefer 2 wheels, but my dad was around/rode one a few times and always wrote them off as needlessly dangerous. Maybe I’d change my tune if I hopped on who knows.

It’s an odd riding experience. Once you learn that you only steer with a combination of throttle and body movement you’re golden. The handlebars are only there for aim.
